I was visiting my friend, Reverse Skate's blog and read a questionaire she'd done about her home. I rarely ever do those, so thought I'd give it a shot. Let's see...
1. When you walk in your front door, which room do you enter? the foyer
2. Do you have a dishwasher? Yes. One built-in in the kitchen and a couple sleeping upstairs.
3. Is your living room carpeted or does it have hardwood floors? some of this, some of that.
4. Do you keep your kitchen knives on the counter or in a drawer? In a drawer. Those knife rack things always looked weird to me. My husband suggested looking at an under-the-cabinet one the other day.
5. House, apartment, duplex or trailer? House. Although when our almost 18 year old daughter asked the other day what I thought about her getting an apartment of her own this fall, I told her she could consider her room her apartment. So that sort of qualifies us as both, yes? ; )
6. How many bedrooms is it? 4, but we use one as a classroom/office.
7. Gas stove or electric? Electric since we moved, but I miss my gas stove. THings both cooked and burned more quickly.
8. Do you have a yard? Somewhere under all the leaves out there. If it ever gets warm enough and dry enough, we hope to find it again.
9. What size TV is in the living room? That's kind of a Three Bears question. We don't watch a lot of tv. It's not too big, not too small...just right.
10. Are your plates in the same cupboard as your cups? The ones that match the dishes, yes. But my favorite cups are in another cabinet. They're the ones my kids have given me through the years and don't match anything but my memories.
11. Is there a coffee maker sitting on your kitchen counter? Yes. We bought one of those BrewMasters a few months back. Still can't decide if I like it. I like the push-the-button-for-coffee, but it doesn't seem to stay hot very long.
11. What room is your computer in? the classroom/office
12. Are there pictures hanging in your living room? One over the fireplace, but I think that's it.
13. Are there any themes found in your home? Not sure. Things are mostly co-ordinated..is that a theme?
14. What kind of laundry detergent do you use? Tide with bleach. And I recently went back to using the powder. It seems to last longer.
15. Do you use dryer sheets? Yep. I wish I could use fabric softener in the wash, but it made our towels less absorbant. Dryer sheets don't seem to do that.
16. Do you have any curtains in your home? We live out in the country. The windows along the back of our house are mostly open. Some rooms have valances; our bedroom has valances and sheers. I really, really like the sunlight and curtains tend to restrict that.
17. What color is your fridge? White
18. Is your house clean? My friends tease me that my house is always company ready, but it's anybody's guess what time of day I'll get me ready. I really need to work on that.
19. Are the dishes in your sink/dishwasher clean or dirty? They were clean - just emptied it.
20. How long have you lived in your home? About a year and a half.
21. Where did you live before? In another house in another state. Sometimes I miss it.
22. Do you have one of those fluffy toilet lid covers on your toilet? not sure what that is, but it sounds a little intimidating!
23. Do you have a scale anywhere in your house? In our bathroom.
24. How many mirrors are in your house? counting...dressers have mirrors, bathrooms have mirrors...4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms...8? Wait, one hanging in the foyer and one in the formal dining room...whoa! 10 mirrors! That sounds like a lot! But only 2 of them are decorative, so that's ok...right?
25. Look up. What do you see? the ceiling?
